The selectors of the Indian cricket team led by Ajit Agarkar are reportedly contemplating dropping Virat Kohli from the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Despite Kohli being the highest run-scorer in the format, the selectors want a squad of young cricketers for the ICC event.
As per a report published by The Telegraph, the national selectors were forced to take the harsh decision because the trophy cabinet of India is empty. The last time they won an ICC trophy was in 2013.

It’s up to the selectors now to make the decision regarding Kohli, with BCCI not involving themselves in it because, as per the source, it “remains a very delicate matter and not many are willing to get involved.”
The report further stated that Agarkar also communicated to Kohli that he needed to change his approach to T20 cricket. Agarkar would again approach Kohli to convince him to accept the difficult decision.
Netizens criticize BCCI and selectors for not keeping Virat Kohli in the reckoning for T20 World Cup
The report did not fail to shock the Indian fans because Virat Kohli has been one of the pillars of the Indian cricket team. The Kohli fans especially criticized the BCCI and selectors for choosing 36-year-old Rohit Sharma as the captain for the T20 World Cup.

If the report is true, then Kohli will have to prove the selectors wrong by playing aggressively in the upcoming Indian Premier League, scheduled to start on March 22. Last year, he scored 639 runs in the tournament.
Also, the players who are in the scheme of things are, Suryakumar Yadav, Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, and Shivam Dube. Selectors will also be closely watching the players during the IPL.
