Former India captain Virat Kohli did not spare any Pakistani bowlers as he bashed them mercilessly to reach his 77th International century on Monday (September 11) at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Doing so, he also became the fastest batter to reach 13000 ODI runs.

Kohli came to bat on Sunday ( September 10), the original date for the India-Pakistan match of the Super Four stage. But the match stopped due to heavy rain and due to the exclusive reserve day, the match continued on Monday.

On Monday, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul walked to the pitch and continued from where they left yesterday. Pakistan bowlers tried everything but still couldn’t break the partnership and eventually, India crossed 300 to put on 356/2 in 50 overs.

Kohli and Rahul remain not out with both slamming their respective tons. Rahul played a 106-ball 111run knock, while Kohli top-scored with his 122 off 94 balls with nine boundaries and three sixes. His last six came off on the last ball of India’s innings.

It looked much like the iconic six the 34-year-old scored last year in Melbourne against Pakistan. Kohli also became the fastest batter in history to reach 14000 runs in international cricket while batting at number three position in the line-up.
