In another World Cup final, Australia and India faced each other and the result of it was no different than their previous meetings. The only difference was that the two sides were Under-19 teams.
They locked horns on Sunday (February 11) at the Sahara Park Willowmoore Cricket Stadium in Benoni, South Africa. After winning the toss, Australia chose to bat first and posted a decent 253/7 in their 50 overs.

Harjas Singh was the top scorer with his 64-ball 55 runs, while Hugh Weibgen and Harry Dixon made 48 and 42 runs respectively. Ollie Peake later added 46 runs by remaining unbeaten.
The score was not a huge one, but the three scalps each of Mahli Beardman and Rafael Macmillan did not let the Indians score runs easily. For India, Adarsh Singh top scored (47 off 77), while Murugan Abhishek scored 42 runs.
Though India were inching closer to the target, they were losing wickets at regular intervals. After Tom Straker removed Saumy Pandey, Australia won the match by 79 runs and were declared the champions of the 2024 ICC Under-19 World Cup.
Netizens react to India’s third straight loss to Australia in ICC final
Indians fans on social media are saying that though they expected to witness something different, they are now used to seeing India lose to the Aussies in the final of an ICC event.

Check their reactions here:
This was India’s third consecutive loss to Australia in an ICC final since 2023. India and Australia met at the World Test Championship final in June last year when Pat Cummins and Co. hammered Rohit Sharma and his men by 209 runs.
Then the two teams met again in the 2023 ODI World Cup final. Despite being the heavy favorite, for they were the home team, Australia emerged as the six-time champions by winning the final by six wickets.
