Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), after choosing to bat first, posted a challenging total of 182/6 in their 20 overs on Saturday (May 13) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Heinrich Klaasen top scored, and little contributions from other batters helped the Orange Army reach that total against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

SRH had rather a slow start as Yudhvir Singh drew the first blood to dismiss Abhishek Sharma in the third over for just seven runs. Rahul Tripathi also had a flop show with the bat, for he could only score 20 runs from 13 balls before he was sent to the dugout by Yash Thakur.

Anmolpreet Singh, on the other hand, did score 36 runs but they came off 27 balls when Amit Mishra pulled off a caught and bowled to dismiss him. Captain Aiden Markram added 28 runs from 20 balls.

But one batsman who played responsibly was Heinrich Klaasen. Klaasen, with three fours and three sixes, added 47 runs from 29 balls, and before he could take the team past the 200-run mark, Avesh Khan got rid of him in the penultimate over. Apart from Klaasen, Abdul Samad tried to give a fine finish to the side, for he remained unbeaten on 37 runs from 25 balls with four and four maximums to take SRH to 182/6 in their 20 overs.

Among the LSG bowlers, skipper Krunal Pandya scalped two wickets, while Avesh Khan, Yash Thakur, and Amit Mishra bagged one wicket each. This game is crucial for both teams for playoff qualifications. LSG have five wins from 11 matches, while SRH secured four wins from 10 matches. Both teams need at least 16 points to advance to the next stage.
