Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq made waves during the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) due to his fight with former India captain Virat Kohli. The cricket fraternity, especially the Indian cricket enthusiasts were desperately waiting to witness the Naveen-Kohli match in the 2023 Asia Cup. Unfortunately, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) dropped Naveen from the squad, leaving fans on X (formerly Twitter) flabbergasted.
During the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Naveen and Kohli exchanged a few heated words during LSG’s innings. The altercation continued even after the match and led to another verbal fight between Kohli with LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir. That was considered the ugliest thing that happened during the 16th edition of the IPL.
After that event, both Kohli and Naveen took to their respective social media handles to take an indirect dig at each other. While Kohli kept on celebrating the opponents of LSG during their matches, Naveen went a step ahead and shared those now famous “Sweet mangoes” posts on Instagram after RCB’s elimination, leaving social media users in splits and Kohli fans enraged and they were waiting for an opportunity to attack Naveen on X.
And when LSG found themselves out of IPL, Kohli and RCB fans reached cloud nine and posted all sorts of hilarious memes to mock Naveen, hitting him back with his own “Sweet mangoes” phrase.
