Pakistan are playing against Bangladesh on Wednesday (September 6) at the Gaddafi Stadium. Due to the floodlights problem, the match was stopped for a while but it invited all sorts of criticism from the Indian fans.
Pakistan are the original host of the 2023 Asia Cup. However, because of the strained political relationship with India, the situation became tense when India declared they wouldn’t send the players to Pakistan due to security reasons. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) prepared a hybrid model with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) giving it a green signal after much hassle.
As per the hybrid model, Pakistan is hosting just four Asia Cup matches, while the rest of the matches are being hosted by Sri Lanka. But because of the floodlight failure, and knowing the intense rivalry between the two countries when it comes to cricket, Indian fans started blasting Pakistan.

The match, however, has started. Bangladesh scored 193 in 38.4 after Pakistan speedster Haris Rauf’s four-wicket haul and Naseem Shah’s three wickets restricted them to a low total. Bangladesh wicket-keeper Mushfikur Rahim top scored with his 87-ball 64 runs. Captain Shakib Al Hasan slammed his half-century, scoring 53 runs from 57 balls.
Pakistan have started their run chase. They are in a comfortable position and require just 92 runs in 27 overs (at the time of writing this article).
Pakistan started their Asia Cup campaign with a thumping win over Nepal. After the first match, they faced their eternal rivals India but unfortunately, the match was called off due to rain.
