Talking about the match, England were asked to bat first after New Zealand won the toss. With the help of Joe Root’s 77 off 86 and Jos Buttler’s 43 off 42, England could post just 282/9.

New Zealand lost just one wicket, of Will Young who became a victim of golden duck off Sam Curran’s bowling in the second over. But Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra ensured the Kiwi chase down the target in just 36.2 overs without losing further wickets.

England will play their next match on October 10 against Bangladesh. New Zealand, on October 9, will square off against the Netherlands.
