Hardik Pandya’s time at Mumbai Indians has not gotten off to a good start. Ever since he became captain, he has lost the support of fans and lost his first two matches.
Now things seem much tougher for the MI captain as a report by journalist Abhishek Triphati claims the dressing room is divided. According to the report published on Dainik Jagran, the relationship between Hardik Pandya and Rohit Sharma has soured, with the dressing room now divided in groups.
The two groups are led by the captain of MI and the ex-captain of MI. The group led by Sharma includes stars like Jasprit Bumrah and Tilak Varma, who were not happy with the way Pandya was made captain. The other group is led by the captain and includes Ishan Kishan. Meanwhile, the captain has full backing from the owners.
Fans call out Rohit Sharma for ruining dressing room
When the news of the divide in the Mumbai Indians dressing room came out, many had mixed reactions. Many Virat Kohli fans referenced articles during Kohli’s time as captain, where it was reported that Rohit Sharma had created a divide in the dressing room. Some fans defended Hardik Pandya, while neutral fans just enjoyed the “downfall” of Mumbai Indians.
Check out their reactions:
In the two matches Pandya has captained MI, he has lost both. He first lost to Gujarat Titans by 6 runs and then lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 31 runs. They will now face Rajasthan Royals on 1st April, which will be their first match at home. Many expect a hostile welcome for Pandya, who was already booed by fans during their first match.
