Rohit Sharma has represented India for over 16 years. In those 15 years he has faced world class bowlers in all formats he has played. When asked who was the toughest bowler he faced, many would’ve thought it could be Mitchel Starc, or Mohammad Amir. Maybe Shaheen Shah Afridi? Trent Boult? Or how about Dushmantha Chameera? The Sri Lanka Pacer had made Rohit his bunny in T20Is. But it is none of these bowlers.
Rohit Sharma was quoted by IANS, saying the toughest bowler he faced was South African pacer, Dale Steyn. Talking about Steyn, Rohit said, “Dale Steyn has been one of the toughest bowlers to face. His work ethic, his discipline, and his ability with the new ball were always challenges, and I loved to play against him.”
Dale Steyn was known for his express pace, with his fastest ball being 156.7 kmph for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Kolkata Knight Riders. He was also known for his ability to get movement in the air and also mastering reverse-swing. He is regarded as one of the best pacers of his generation and one of the best Test bowlers of all time.
