England captain Ben Stokes and his teammates are over the moon after England’s three-wicket win in the third Ashes Test. And now, as England have fought their way back into the series after losing the first two matches, Stokes is sensing a series win as the England skipper has said “It’s just the start”.

England won the third Test as they chased down 251 with three wickets to spare. Harry Brook top-scored for England in the second innings as the young batter scored 75 runs. Zak Crawley also chipped in with a 44 while Chris Woakes (32*) and Mark Wood (16*) formed the winning partnership. Wood also had a great contribution with the ball as the pacer claimed seven wickets in the match.

Chris Woakes was another big performer for England as the comeback man took six wickets and scored a handy 42 runs. The all-rounder also hit the winning runs and was chuffed to bits, quite obviously. Meanwhile, Ben Stokes was running high on emotions. Not only the England captain got emotional while congratulating Wood in the dressing room but Stokes also made a bold statement at the post-match press conference.

After clinching the third game and fighting their way back in their series, England were happy and captain Ben Stokes said his team was over the moon. Stokes also issued an indirect warning to Australia for the reaming two Tests. The England skipper said that his team has now got an idea about what to do.

“It’s obviously really big in the context of the series,” Stokes said (via ESPNCricinfo). “We knew we needed to win this one to keep alive our hopes of winning the Ashes, so it’s a good win. If you look at the first two games in terms of how tight they were, getting over the line in another tight game can mentally help, knowing that it’s another close game but we’ve got over the line in this one.

“The first two didn’t go our way. If you sort of flip it round and we didn’t win this one and it’s tight again, you would think, ‘It’s just not meant to be’. We’re obviously over the moon that we won this one but it’s just the start of what we know we need to do.”
