Azam Khan has always been subjected to hate and abuse from fans due his weight. The keeper has gained a reputation for being a good T20 player, but fans still dismiss his talent due to his obesity.

This trend continued during Pakistan’s recent loss to New Zealand. Coming in to bat at 95-3 while chasing 225, Azam Khan walked in. Fakhar Zaman’s dismissal had brought him in. As he walked, the DJ started playing the theme song of WWE’s Big Show.

Big Show was a wrestler who used to compete in World Wrestling Entertainment, or WWE for short. At the start of his career he was known for being heavy. He suffered from acromegaly, which caused excessive growth of his body. He later underwent surgery to halt his growth in the 90s, before debuting in the WWE.

Fans give mixed reaction to Big show’s song being played

When the video of Azam Khan walking out to Big Show’s song went viral, many fans gave different reactions. Many claimed they found it cool, adding they would love to walk out with the same song. Some were not impressed by it, calling it body shaming and calling it out. Some outright started making fun of the 25-year old keeper.

Khan ended up scoring only 19 runs before being dismissed. Pakistan ended up losing to the Kiwis by 45 runs. The Men in Green continue their winless run under the new management and coaching staff. Since the 2023 ODI World Cup, they have failed to win a single game across all formats, including First Class cricket. They have already lost the T20I series against NZ, but have 2 games left in the series.
