Pakistan and Sri Lanka will host Asia Cup
Because of the political tension between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the Asia Cup 2023 will be mutually hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka as per the hybrid model. The BCCI won’t send their players to Pakistan due to security reasons which is why the Men in Blue will be playing their matches in Sri Lanka. Only four matches will be played in Pakistan.
The Asia Cup is scheduled to start on August 30. India will kick start their tournament with a match against Babar Azam and Co. on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
The two teams may also lock horns for the second time in the Super 4 stage if they qualify for the same. If they qualify for the finals, then it will be their third encounter in the tournament. The final will be played on September 17.
