Pakistan’s talented teenager Ayesha Naseem reportedly announces shocking retirement from cricket due to RELIGIOUS reasons
However, though there are several reports that claimed she retired from cricket, there has been no official confirmation from the PCB as of yet.

Pakistan’s 18-year-old Ayesha Naseem reportedly approached the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to announce her shocking retirement from cricket. As per several reports, Naseem bid farewell to the sport due to religious reasons. However, though there are several reports that claimed she retired from cricket, there has been no official confirmation from the PCB as of yet.
Naseem was born on August 7, 2004, in Abbottabad and made her debut for Pakistan Women in 2020 in a match against Thailand Women and went on play 30 T20Is for the team, scoring 369 runs at a strike rate of 128.12. She also represented Pakistan in four ODIs and could collect 33 runs.
The reports of her retirement came as a shock because she was talented as well as one of the best hitters of the game in her team. Her last match was in February this year, in the ICC T20 World Cup. And she even played a memorable innings against India, scoring an unbeaten 43 off just 25 balls.

The legendary Wasim Akram once praised Ayesha Naseem as a ‘serious talent’. But she chose to leave this path to live a life according to Islam. Reports also say that Pakistan’s management asked her to ponder properly on this sudden decision. Those reports claim Naseem told PCB this: “I’m leaving cricket to live my life according to Islam.”
Naseem hogged the limelight when she played a cameo of a 20-ball 24 runs against a formidable Australian side, smashing four sixes and a four. Akram shared a video of her six on his Twitter handle and wrote: “Now that’s some serious talent“.

Naseem last played her ODI match against Australia Women on January 21, 2023. While her last international match was a T20I match against Ireland Women on February 15, 2023. In her last international match, she scored six runs off two balls.
