Pat Cummins has had a stellar 2023. He led Australia to triumphs in the World Cup and World Test Championship, beating India in both finals. Along with that, he retained the Ashes, won every Test series at home and gave India a great challenge in India. 

His individual stats were also impressive, as the Australian captain picked up 42 Test wickets at an average of 27.5. To award him for his fabulous performances in the year, the ICC awarded the Australian the Garfield Sobers Trophy. The trophy awarded to the player adjudged as the ICC Cricketer of the Year. To add with the achievements, he was purchased for ₹20.5 in the IPL Auction, becoming the 2nd most expensive player in the history of the IPL.

Winning almost everything available in 2023, Cummins has now decided to take the back seat and enjoy his time. During the 2nd Test against West Indies, where he scored a clutch half century, he was spotted yawning while fielding towards the end of the day. 

Fans can’t stop joking as Pat Cummins yawns 

Fans couldn’t stop cracking jokes seeing the Australian captain yawning. They joked how he was yawning because he was tired of winning. Others compared him to other players like Sarfaraz Khan and Rohit Sharma, who have been caught yawning.

The Australian summer has been great for Cummins. Australia whitewashed Pakistan in a three-match Test series, with the Australian captain taking 19 wickets. In the next series against West Indies, he started the first Test by taking a four-wicket haul and so far has 6 wickets in the series.
