“People like you are problem,” Jofra Archer lashes out at Australian media for feeding false stories about him
The Mumbai Indians' management has not yet openly addressed the concerns around Archer’s fitness.
England and Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Jofra Archer lashed out at the Australian media for carrying out false stories about him. Archer slammed the reporters for publishing stories about him undergoing surgery on his elbow. Notably, there are reports in the Australian media that Archer underwent surgery on his elbow midway through IPL 2023. The report also claimed that this was Archer’s fifth surgery in 25 months.
However, Archer denied all these claims through a tweet on Wednesday. The England marquee pacer also shamed the reporter for putting out a story without his consent. Archer then slammed the reporter for exploiting someone’s problem for personal gain.
“Putting out an article without knowing the facts & without my consent is crazy. Who ever the reporter is shame on you, an already worrying and troubling time for a player and you exploit it for your personal gain, it’s people like you that are the problem,” tweeted Archer on Wednesday.
Notably, the Fox Sports report claimed that Archer underwent surgery in Belgian on his troublesome elbow. “The English quick’s surgery was performed by Belgian surgeon Roger van Riet, who previously operated on Mark Wood after he sustained an elbow injury last year while on tour in the Caribbean,” claimed the report.
Jofra Archer continues to miss matches in IPL 2023
Although the Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer has condemned this report in the Australian media, Archer has been warming the bench in the MI dugout. The star pacer has featured in only two of seven games played this season. Even in the games played, Archer has not been at his usual best. In the eight overs bowled, Archer leaked 75 runs and claimed a solitary wicket.
The Mumbai Indians’ management has not yet openly addressed the concerns around Archer’s fitness. Head coach Mark Boucher has only used the word “illness” so far. Nevertheless, reports have claimed that Archer might return to action against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday (30 April).
