WATCH: Punjab leader calls Arshdeep Singh’s mother after pacer faced vicious trolls for dropping catch against Pakistan

Arshdeep Singh dropped a catch at a crucial moment when India was locking horns with Pakistan (Sunday, September 4) and that was considered to be a total game changer. Pakistan were able to defeat India by five wickets. Troll army attacked him with what not, even have gone to the extent of calling the young pacer “Khalistani”. But many have come forward with strong support of the young pacer including the political leaders.

Leaders from Punjab have come out to support Arshdeep. Ex-cricketer and Aam Aadmi Party MP Harbhajan Singh slammed the trolls and asked them to stop criticising the young pacer and that no one drops catch purposefully.

Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said Arshdeep Singh is the future of the nation. He also spoke to Arshdeep’s mother Baljit Kaur on the phone and told her that Punjab and the whole country was proud with him.

“Victory or defeat is given in game. @arshdeepsinghh is upcoming star who carved out niche in short span. Performed excellent against Pakistan. Regressive psyche to troll him on drop of just a catch. Arshdeep is future of Nation. Inspiration for youth. Hate has no place in sports,” said Hayer in his tweet.

Former CM Amrinder Singh also stated how it was unfortunate that Arshdeep dropped that catch but that happens in sports under tremendous pressure. BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa also called out those who trolled Arshdeep calling him a “Khalistani.”
