Quinton de Kock gave up his wicket to Sunil Narine. On the 8th over, Sunil Narine bowled a shorter length and de Kock tried rocked back and tried to play the lofted back foot punch but ended up mistiming it badly and the ball just held a bit in the pitch. The ball went towards the long off fence where Shivam Mavi grabbed a simple catch.

Deepak Hooda was sent back by Andre Russell on the 13th over. Russell hurled a short ball on the middle. Hooda tried to take him on as he shifted on the back foot and tried to pull but got a top edge and the ball skyed high and fell onto the hands of Shreyas Iyer comfortably.

Krunal Pandya played slowly and scored 25 off 27 balls and was dismissed by Russell. Marcus Stoinis scored 28 off 14 balls by hitting 3 sixes and a four and was dismissed by Mavi. The best finishing touches were given on the 19th over. Stonis smashed three sixes in a row and got dismissed. Jason Holder was the new batsman and he started his game with two back-to-back sixes. 30 runs was scored in that over that made all the difference.

Jason Holder tried finishing the innings with his quick 13 runs off 4 balls with 2 sixes but Tim Southee sent him back. At the end, Lucknow were able to score 176/7 in the 20 overs. LSG have won 7 games in their 10 matches and are currently occupying the 2nd place on the points-table.

Southee, Mavi, and Narine grabbed one wicket each while Russell picked up two wickets.
