India’s star spinner R Ashwin is no less than a magician. The 36-year-old keeps on producing unplayable deliveries the latest of which came in the second India vs West Indies Test. As West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite was well-set on the crease and batting on 75 after having faced 234 deliveries, Ashwin brought out a magical delivery to knock off the batter’s stumps. 

Ashwin managed to get the ball turn a long way into the batsman and Brathwaite could only see the red cherry pierce the gap between his bat and pad. The ball then hit the stumps, ending the Windies captain’s resistance.

Speaking of the delivery, it was a flighted delivery outside the off-stump. The ball pitched right under the eyes of the batter who prodded forward to fend it. However, Brathwaite could not comprehend the turn on the ball and it sneaked through the gap between bat and pad.

Can West Indies survive another inning defeat?

With the way things are, it seems West Indies are in for some serious trouble. Although they have managed to score some good runs on the back of the valiant knock from their captain, the hosts stare another inning defeat. West Indies still trail by over 250 runs (at the time of the writing of the article) and their best batter is back in the hut. 

A lot will depend on the Windies’ middle order. Joshua Da Silva, Jason Holder, and Jermaine Blackwood will have a lot of responsibility. West Indies will not want to concede a big lead to India in the first inning. Meanwhile, the visitors will look to close the game as quickly as possible and R Ashwin will once again be the key bowler for them.
