India spinner R Ashwin does not only clean bowl batters on the field but he also keeps everyone on their toes with his interesting tweets on social media. As the Indian cricket fraternity celebrated MS Dhoni’s 42nd birthday on Friday (7 July), it was time for another interesting tweet from the Indian veteran. 

While wishing Dhoni on his birthday, Ashwin took aim at “gossip mongers” and “story spinners”. The off-spinner took a dig saying that although he does not want to put a tweet for MS Dhoni, he is doing it just to keep such people quiet.

“Tweeting on July 7th without wishing the great man a happy birthday can prove to be catastrophic. Happy birthday Mahi bhai. #disclaimer this will be my last birthday wish on Twitter for anyone. I believe I will stick to wishing them directly or call them. The disclaimer was for all gossip mongers and story spinners,” wrote Ashwin on Twitter.

As R Ashwin put out a tweet, fans were quick to respond to it. While a few could not stop laughing, some felt it was typical of the Indian spinner. “Ash being Ash,” commented one user.

Notably, MS Dhoni does not use social media and fans felt that it’s of no use putting posts for the former India captain when he can’t even see them.
