On Friday, April 29, Rajasthan Royals shared a post on their social media handles regarding their new jersey that the players are going to wear for their match in Saturday against Mumbai Indians.

To pay tribute to the legendary Shane Warne, Rajasthan Royals will wear a special jersey that which will have these written on the collars, “SW23”.

RR’s Twitter shared the photos of the kits with the caption: “A special jersey, to honor a special man. #ForWarnie.”

Shane Warne lifted IPL 2008 trophy for RR

Shane Warne had died in Thailand from a suspected heart attack at the age of just 53. His demise left the whole cricket fraternity in a complete shock. The Australian bowler had bagged an incredible 708 wickets from 145 Tests, 293 ODI wickets from 198 matches between 1992- 2007.

Shane Warne has played in the inaugural season of IPL in 2008 where he captained Rajasthan Royals and the team came out victorious and lifted the coveting cup. In the final match, RR had defeated the now 4-time champions Chennai Super Kings.

RR also invited Shane Warne’s brother Jason to be part of the celebration. A part of the DY Patil Stadium has been turned into a Shane Warne Tribute Gallery.

RR had locked-horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore and defeated them by 29 runs in their previous match. Rajasthan scored 144/8 and bundled out RCB for 115 runs. Only Riyan Parag played a much-needed knock of 56 off 31 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes.

RCB’s top and middle order batsmen failed to add runs. Virat Kohli again couldn’t score by being dismissed for 9 off 10. Faf du Plessis scored 23 runs and other batsmen didn’t reach even a 20-run mark.
RR’s Kuldeep Sen scalped 4 wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin picked 3 wickets.
