At this moment, Wimbledon’s charm is pervading in the air and some of the Indian cricketers are the sport’s ardent fans. Several Indian cricketers were spotted attending the major slam to watch great tennis icons, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Serena Williams in action.

On a scorshing afternoon, ex-India head coach Ravi Shastri clicked his picture in the Centre court to watch Djokovic taking on Cameron Norrie in the semi-final at Wimbledon on Friday.

“Great to be back in Centre court on a scorching aftertoon for what should be a humdinger. Joko vs Home boy,” Shastri wrote on his social media post.

Djokovic reached the final after he put a thriller after losing the first set to went on to win the next three sets to win the match 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. In the final, Djokovic will take on Nick Kyrgios on Sunday. Kyrgios reached the final after Rafael Nadal withdrew from the tournament with injury ahead of the semi-final clash. If Djokovic wins this match, it will be his 21st Grand Slam title.

At this moment, the defending champion at Wimbledon, Djokovic is tied with Roger Federer with 20 Grand Slam titles. Nadal is leading the tally with 22 Grand Slam titles.

“Life is definitely easier in the commentary box”- Ravi Shastri

Meanwhile Shastri was commentating in Edgbaston where India lost to England. When he was asked about his commentary stint, his said that this was much easier than being the India coach.

“Life is definitely easier in the commentary box (than coaching the Indian cricket team),” he said.  “It is fairly a relaxed job now but to be honest I have been richer by the experience (India coaching stint). The seven-year stint has been a huge experience for me,” said Shastri during the lunch break on the third day of this ongoing match, in an exclusive for News 18 Cricketnext.
