The Bazball style of Test batting has become a talking point in the cricket fraternity. Since the style was first introduced by Brendon McCullum and Ben Stokes, there were scrutiny from the fans and pundits on whether the team, playing a fast-paced cricket, contrary to the traditional way, will ever taste more success.
But England, unfazed by the outside chatter, continued to back their players and did not change their mindset, and the result was their winning 14 of the 18 Test matches they have played. England recently tied the five-match Ashes series against Australia 2-2 despite failing to retain the urn.
This revamp not only helped England but many feel other teams may copy this and change their style. But Ravichandran Ashwin opined Bazball will not work for India.

Why Bazball won’t work for India?
Ravichandran Ashwin said if India play Bazball and is in their transition phase, and loses two matches, then instead of receiving support from management and selectors, players will be dropped. Ashwin feels India has a different culture and can’t copy England’s style just because it worked out for them.
“Will we back Bazball and the players? We will drop at least four players from our playing XI. That’s how our culture has always been. So, we can’t copy others’ style of play just because it worked for them,” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel. Ashwin feels England are playing Bazball because of the tremendous support they are getting from the management, selectors, and the English crowd.
In the recently-concluded Ashes series, England lost the first two matches, and their bold decisions were heavily criticized. But they made a terrific comeback, won the third Test, almost tied the Test by winning the fourth one had not rain played spoilsport, and secured the last one to avoid losing an Ashes series at home since 2001.
