In the latest episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC),’ cricket grabbed the spotlight with an intriguing question. The question, which was worth a staggering 25 lakhs INR, related to an individual’s cricketing achievement.
The participants were asked, “Who is the first Indian cricketer to dismiss both a father and son in Test cricket?” Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin were the cricketing superstars presented as options. To the delight of cricket fans, the correct answer was none other than seasoned Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin.
During India’s latest test series with the West Indies, Ashwin’s claim to this exclusive record came to light. He added Tagenarine Chanderpaul‘s son to his list of victims by bowling him out. During his Test debut in 2011, he dismissed Tagenarine’s father, the renowned Shivnarine Chanderpaul.
Ashwin has now become a member of a privileged group of cricketers worldwide who have accomplished this remarkable feat. Among them are Wasim Akram of Pakistan, Simon Harmer of South Africa, Mitchell Starc of Australia, and Ian Botham of England.
