Ravichandran Ashwin is regarded as one of the best finger spinners to grace the game. He has an excellent legacy in Test cricket, playing 100 Tests and taking more than 500 wickets. Now regarded as a great, the spinner was close to retiring from the sport in 2017.

After the 2017 Champions Trophy final, Ravichandran Ashwin was dropped so that the team could fit Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. He was close to leaving the sport altogether after a fight with his father. His father said the off-spinner was too upright and honest, which was the reason he was screwed over. After the fight, the off-spinner cried for a long time. He sat in a dark room and didn’t watch cricket as well.
