“Rohit and Virat were crying,” Ravichandran Ashwin reveals what happened in dressing room after India lost World Cup final to Australia

After displaying some of the most dominating performances, India lost to Australia in the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup. India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who was part of the squad, revealed what happened in the dressing room after the heartbreaking defeat.
On November 19, Rohit Sharma and his men locked horns with Pat Cummins and Co. in Ahmedabad. After batting first, India couldn’t defend 240 runs, resulting in their loss by six wickets. Travis Head came in the clutch after Australia lost three early wickets to guide his team to victory by six wickets.
On his YouTube channel, Ashwin disclosed that Sharma and Kohli were crying in the dressing room. He also praised Sharma for his leadership skills.
Yes, we felt the pain. Rohit and Virat were crying. Seeing that, it felt bad. Anyway, it was not meant to be. This team was an experienced one. Everybody knew what to do, and then it was professional. Everybody knew their routines and warm-ups.Ashwin told former cricketer Subramaniam Badrinath on his YouTube channel.
Ravichandran Ashwin praised Rohit Sharma for his leadership skills
Ravichandran Ashwin heaped praise on Rohit Sharma over his leadership skills, saying the India captain knows about the likes and dislikes of each player. He said Sharma puts a lot of effort into knowing each player personally. Ashwin also feels that despite everyone calling MS Dhoni the best captain, he feels Sharma is an outstanding captain because of the way he understands each player in the team.
Ashwin also spoke about not being included in the playing XI for the final. He said he understood why Sharma kept him out of the playing XI, and that if he had been in a captain’s shoes he wouldn’t have altered the winning combination. Ashwin said he was mentally prepared to play the final, but he was also prepared to cheer for the team if he was benched.
