“Nobody saw this coming”- Ravichandran Ashwin slams maiden 50 in his T20 career; helps Rajasthan score 160 vs DC

When almost every batsman failed to score runs, with Ravichandran Ashwin’s maiden half-century in T20, Rajasthan Royals set a target of 161 in 20 overs for the Delhi Capitals on Wednesday, May 11 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Talking about the match, Rajasthan played a slow innings after they lost Jos Buttler for 7 off 11 off Chetan Sakariya’s ball. Yet again, they send Ravichandran Ashwin before, for the third wicket. Only in T20 format, Ashwin had made no half-centuries. But with 4 fours and 2 sixes, Ravichandran Ashwin scored his maiden half-century in T20. Facing 38 balls, he played a knock of 50.
In the 15th over, just after scoring his 50, Marsh delivered a slower one. Ravichandran Ashwin made room and looked to go over covers. He was early in the shot and ended up chipping it in the air towards mid-off. David Warner ran back and grabbed a comfortable catch. Sanju Samson got dismissed after scoring just 6 runs off 4 balls.

Hunt for the playoffs continues for both the teams
Devdutt Padikkal missed his half-century by two runs, played a knock of 48 off 30 balls by smashing 5 fours and 2 sixes. RR’s explosive batsman Shimron Hetmyer wasn’t playing in this match because he went to his country Guyana to attend the birth of his child. In his place, Rassie van der Dussen was playing who scored 12 off 10 balls with a four.
Chetan Sakariya and Mitchell Marsh, and Anrich Nortje picked up two wickets each.
This is Rajasthan Royals’ 12 matches and so far, they have won 7 matches; are currently occupying the third position on the points table with 14 points. While Delhi Capitals is also playing their 12th matches and have 5 wins with 10 points.
