“Slipping in and out of consciousness,” Ravichandran Ashwin’s mother COLLAPSED after he scalped 500 Test wickets
The veteran spinner revealed what went behind when he reached his home after leaving the third Test midway.

Ravichandran Ashwin left the third Test of the ongoing Test series against England midway. It was later revealed that due to his mother’s health issues, Ashwin had to withdraw himself. But he returned before the conclusion of said Test.
Later, his wife, Prithi Narayanan, congratulated him on Instagram and also said that the time between his 500th and 501st Test wickets was the longest “longest 48 hours” of their lives. The veteran spinner revealed what went behind when he reached his home after leaving the third Test midway. He said his mother told him to go back and play the Test match.

I knew what my mom would say. I knew what my wife would say. I knew what my dad would say. When I landed and got to the hospital, my mom was slipping in and out of consciousness, and the first thing she asked me was, 'Why did you come?' The 37-year-old offspinner reached his 500th Test wicket in that Rajkot Test when he dismissed opener Zak Crawley in the final session of the second day. He became ninth overall and only the second Indian after Anil Kumble to pick up 500 Test wickets.
Rohit Sharma praised Ravichandran Ashwin ahead of his 100th Test match by calling him a rare player
The fifth and last Test of the series in Dharamshala scheduled on Thursday (March 7) will be Ravichandran Ashwin’s 100th Test match. Ahead of the Test, India captain Rohit Sharma praised the veteran off-spinner, calling him a “rare” player.

His performances over the last five or seven years, every series he has contributed. It is rare to have players like him.Rohit said in the pre-match press conference
Ashwin has 507 wickets to his name from 99 Test matches. In the previous match, he scalped one wicket in the first innings and completed his 35th five-wicket haul in the second innings.
