The rumors that were spreading across social media about a possible rift between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni and star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are all forgotten. Jadeja became the star of the night for CSK when his heroics in the last over sealed victory for the five-time champions. After the win over Gujarat Titans, Jadeja changed Instagram DP.

One thing that won the hearts of the internet is how, after the win, Thala lifted Jadeja off the ground, and hugged him after the latter hit the winning runs. And this Dhoni-Jadeja moment was the picture the all-rounder uploaded as his Instagram DP.

This was a terrific comeback for the Dhoni-led side. After a forgetful last year, CSK went on to lift their record-equaling fifth IPL trophy. Later, Jadeja dedicated his match-winning innings to Thala and even shared a post with the caption: “We did it for ONE and ONLY “MS DHONI” mahi bhai aapke liye toh kuch bhi (any for you)…“

During the league, Jadeja shared two cryptic posts and fans believed again of a possible rift between the captain and the all-rounder. This happened after a video had gone viral where Dhoni could be seen having an animated chat with Jadeja despite the team’s emphatic win over Delhi Capitals.

Jadeja wrote: “Karma” and his wife also retweeted the post. And in another post after receiving an award for Most Valuable Player, he wrote: “Upstox knows but..some fans don’t“. Notably, fans keep chanting Dhoni’s name when Jadeja enters because they want to see Thala bat, believing this season to be his last IPL, though the 41-year-old hinted at his comeback next year.

But everything will be forgotten as CSK won the trophy and the stadiums in the next IPL, if Dhoni plays, may not want to pray for Jadeja’s dismissal to see Thala come to bat.
