While Virat Kohli did not get the chance to show up with the bat, he managed to blow everyone’s minds away with a one-handed stunner while fielding. Virat Kohli’s one-handed catch left everyone including the opposition stunned. The batter, Romario Shepherd himself could not believe what Kohli had pulled and is in awe of the catch. Ravindra Jadeja also appreciated the catch after the match.

India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who is often praised for his athletic run-outs and supreme catches on the field also appreciated Virat Kohli’s catch but in his own unique style. The spinner came up with a witty response while talking to Kuldeep Yadav about it in a video posted by BCCI TV.

Jadeja talked about how happy he was to see someone pull such a catch off his bowling since he has often done so for others. He said, “Virat Kohli took a fabulous catch. It was low and Kohli held it wonderfully. Generally, I take such catches on other’s bowling, but it felt good that somebody took it on my bowling.”

Spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav ripped apart the West Indies batting line-up with 7 wickets among the two. While Jadeja picked up 3 wickets, Kuldeep Yadav, who returned to international cricket after a long time, picked up 4 wickets. India bowled the Windies for 114 in 23 overs.

Skipper Rohit Sharma gave up his batting position for young Ishan Kishan and the youngster did not disappoint. The wicket-keeper opened the batting with Shubman Gill and etched a 46-ball 52 giving India a solid start. India chased the target in 22.5 overs to win the first ODI by 5 wickets. Yadav was named the Player of the Match for his four wickets.

However, Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid did face the heat from the fans for experimenting too much with the batting order. Fans were not pleased to see the team management making an absolute mess while trying new things. Now, as India leads the three-match ODI series 1-0, it is to be seen if Rohit and Co. adopt the same strategy in the second ODI.
