Ravindra Jadeja to miss rest of the season due to an injury

Ravindra Jadeja

Former Chennai Super Kings skipper, Ravindra Jadeja will be out for the last 3 games of Chennai Super Kings in this year’s IPL. The 32-year-old who missed out on Chennai’s victory against Delhi Capitals due to injury, seems that the same injury will keep him out of Chennai’s remaining games. CSK’s official social handles announced the news.

Ravindra Jadeja hadn’t been in the best of forms for Chennai this season. Managing just 116 runs with the bat striking at 118.9 and 5 wickets in 10 matches that he featured. Not to mention captaining the first 7 as well. Last year, Jadeja’s performance was on a whole new level. Especially with the bat, he managed 227 runs at an average of 75 and strike rate of 145.5. Picking up 13 wickets in the process as well.

CSK announce on Social Media that Ravindra Jadeja will miss the rest of tournament

Chennai’s remaining 3 games are very crucial as they aim for the fourth and possibly 3rd spot in the points table. Unlikely, Chennai are still mathematically in the race to qualify for the playoffs this season. However, without Ravindra Jadeja, the other players will have to step up, especially the batting order.

Over the last two years, Ravindra Jadeja has established himself as a reliable finisher. For both CSK and team India. His absence will only put more pressure on the remaining players who themselves haven’t been in the best of form. Chennai have only recently found its mojo back, with the help of internationals like Devon Conway and Maheesh Theekshana.

Ravindra Jadeja is one of IPL’s legends. He is easily one of the tournament’s best fielders as well. Chennai will hope for a speedy recovery for their all-rounder as they look forward to facing Mumbai Indians tomorrow at the Wankhede stadium at 7:30. Here’s fan’s reaction to the news:
