On 18th February, India bundled out England for just 122 runs, winning the Test by 434 runs. Ravindra Jadeja had an important role in the match, scoring a century and picking up 7 wickets. In the 2nd innings, he picked up his 13th Test five-wicket haul. For his performances, he was awarded the Player of the Match award. 

As he collected it, he dedicated the award to his wife, Rivaba Jadeja. His wife has been in the news for the past couple of weeks as her father-in-law claimed she caused a rift in the family. He further claimed that he did not meet his son for the past five years, despite lying in the same city.

The all-rounder himself came out and called his father’s interview “scripted”. He further asked all fans to not believe a single thing his father has claimed. Meanwhile RIvaba was asked about it during an event, where she lost her cool. 

Fans call out Ravindra Jadeja 

Many fans were not happy seeing Ravindra Jadeja deciding to dedicate the award to his wife. Many said his father was right in his interview, while many more slammed him for dedicating his award to his wife. Some defended him, saying not all fathers are good parents.

Jadeja scored a century in India’s first innings, which included partnerships with Rohit Sharma and Sarfaraz Khan. He was under fire after a miscommunication with Khan led to the debutant’s run out. In England’s first innings, he picked up two wickets, but picked up a fifer in the 2nd innings. He was also hit for 23 runs by Mark Wood, but picked up his wicket.
