Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their sixth game of the season on Thursday. Bangalore won the game by 24 runs and they had only one man to thank for this win- Mohammed Siraj. The Hyderabad pacer was too hot to handle for the Punjab batters. Siraj ended the match with a figure of 4-0-21-4.
The right-arm pacer provided the first breakthrough in his very first over as Siraj pinned Atharva Taide in front of the sticks. The pacer soon had his second wicket when Liam Livingstone was trapped LBW on an incoming delivery. Siraj’s third victim was Harpreet Brar who was clean-bowled by the RCB pacer. To take this wickets tally to four in the match, Siraj cleaned up Natan Ellis on the last ball of this spell.
Apart from taking wickets, Siraj was electric in the field as well. The star pacer showed great agility to run out Harpreet Singh Bhatia.
Meanwhile, with Siraj consistently performing for RCB in IPL 2023, fans and cricket experts could not hold themselves back from lauding the pacer. Harsha Bhogle also claimed that Siraj was RCB’s MVP (Most Valuable Player) this season.

As expected, Siraj was adjudged the Player of the Match for his scintillating performance. The pacer was then asked by the presenter, Murali Karthik how Siraj improved his bowling in T20 cricket. The pacer revealed that he worked on his fitness, plans, and his skills during the lockdown and it worked well for him.
“The lockdown was really important for me because I used to get hit for boundaries very often before that. I worked on my plans, my fitness and my bowling and it’s all paying dividends now,” said Siraj during the post-match presentation.
