RCB’s official YouTube channel hacked; videos have been deleted, name changed to MicroStrategy

Indian Premier League’s one of the most followed franchise, the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s official YouTube channel has been hacked by a cryptocurrency company named “MicroStrategy”.
All the videos posted on the channel have been deleted. When after searching for RCB on YouTube, users are getting the result about the Microstrategy company. MicroStrategy is an intelligence company which let the organizations to turn data into powerful BI, AI, ML, and Analytics applications.
Prior to this, RCB’s official Twitter handle was also hacked last year. It took two hours for the technical team to restore the account.
“Dear 12th Man Army, our Twitter accout was compromised a few hours ago and we have now managed to get the access back. We condemn the tweet that the hackers put out and we do not endorse any content from that tweet, which we have now deleted. We regret the inconvenience caused,” the franchise had tweeted after their account was restored.
RCB is owned by United Spirits has millions of fans deeply attached to the franchise and it has the services of some of the best batters in the cricket fraternity, in the likes of former India captain Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers.
The franchise is yet to win a title though despite having come close in 2009, 2011, and 2016. In 2022, RCB under the captaincy of Faf du Plessis got knocked out in Qualifier 2 by Rajasthan Royals. Gujarat Titans won their maiden title in maiden appearance in that edition.
