The International Cricket Council has been attempting to increase the popularity of cricket across the world. They have identified the USA as a perfect target thanks to how obsessed they are with sports. They decided that the 2024 T20 World Cup should be hosted in the West Indies and the USA. West Indian legend Chris Gayle, agrees with the ICC too, admitting that the clash between India and Pakistan could help in increasing the popularity of the sport as well.

The ICC (International Cricket Council) has been trying to get cricket on a global scale within the USA. India v Pakistan is in New York, I'm sure it's going to be phenomenal. They (the USA) had a T20 tournament last year and it was a success. It's a big market, we just have to hope it will be a success within the United States.Chris Gayle to AFP news
India and Pakistan have been drawn in the same group for the 2024 T20 World Cup. They are joined with Ireland and the United States of America. The World Cup is set to start on 9th June. The USA were close to losing their right due to lack of infrastructure for cricket in the nation.
