Rinku Singh has found success in all formats of cricket, consistently performing for all teams he plays for. Since his first domestic appearance, he has been a key player for Uttar Pradesh.

After a short stint at Kings XI Punjab, he was purchased by Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. It wasn’t until 2022 when he finally broke into the playing XI, with great batting and fielding performances. He was soon awarded an India call-up and made his debut for India in August 2023 against Ireland.

Despite his recent success, his father has decided to continue his job of delivering LPG cylinders. Khanchandra Singh, Rinku’s father, has been delivering LPG cylinders for years, with his employers even giving a 2-room accommodation where the family lived. In a new viral video, he is still seen delivering cylinders, loading his tempo. 

Rinku SIngh revealed he tried to convince his father to retire from his job, saying that he would now provide for the family. But his father denied, saying he loved his job. The cricketer realized his father wouldn’t be happy just sitting at home as well, so he continued to work. 

Rinku Singh’s glorious start in International cricket 

After a breakthrough season in the IPL, scoring 474 runs, Singh finally received a call-up to the Indian team in a T20I series against Ireland. In his first innings, he scored 38 off 21 before being dismissed. He then featured for India in the 2022 Asian Games, where he only batted once but scored 37* against Nepal.

He featured in India’s next T20I series against Australia, where he showed his capabilities as a finisher. In the 2nd T20I, he scored 31* off 9, showing his hitting capabilities. His form continued in South Africa, where he scored his maiden T20I fifty. He also made his ODI debut in the same tour. 

He once again scored a century in the T20I series against Afghanistan. Recently he returned to play for Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji trophy, but scored only 10. He also made his India A debut against England Lions, but departed for a duck
