Ritika Sajdeh and Rishabh Pant
After several images and videos of Rishabh Pant‘s car accident became viral, India skipper Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdeh lashed out at the media for using insensitive images of the cricketer. Pant met with a horrific accident on Friday (December 30) near Haridwar. He has been hospitalized at the Max Hospital in Dehradun and is in stable condition.
“Shame on you for posting images and videos of someone who’s hurt and unable to decide whether or not they want that out there. They have family and friends who were terribly affected by these images,” Ritika wrote in her Instagram story. “There’s journalism and then there is plain insensitivity,” she added.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a statement saying Pant will be provided all necessary support. In the release, BCCI revealed the 25-year-old youngster has two cuts on his forehead and a ligament tear in his right knee. He has hurt his wrist, ankle, and toe and also suffered from abrasion injuries on his back.
