“Recorded whole call with him,” Riyan Parag says Virat Kohli is the biggest name in his contacts

Riyan Parag featured on comedian Clueless Harpal’s podcast, where they spoke about Riyan’s career so far. The comedian asked various questions regarding his domestic journey, his ambitions and about his image.
During the podcast, the host asked Riyan Parag who is the biggest name in his phone’s contact. Riyan Parag replied it was the former Indian Captain, Virat Kohli. Riyan Parag said, “Virat Kohli is the biggest name in my phone contact, I recorded the whole call when we talked last time as I don’t want to disturb him, whenever I feel I need any advice I talk with him.”
Riyan Parag has expressed his love for Virat Kohli various times on his social media. He had called Kohli his idol and inspiration. While going through a rough patch in the 2023 IPL, Parag had received important advice that helped him. Parag eventually was awarded the Player of the Tournament award for his performances in the Deodhar Trophy.
Is Riyan Parag actually overrated?
Riyan Parag has been receiving a lot of hate from fans due to his performances in the IPL. The 21-year-old has been called out for his antics on and off the field. Many ex-cricketers like Irfan Pathan have defended him, asking everyone not to hate on a player for being confident, but everyone disagrees.
Despite strong performances for Assam in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy, there are people who don’t think Parag has the potential to be a good cricketer. He has a very impressive List A record, scoring 1688 runs in 43 innings with an average of 42.2. He also has 50 wickets, with an average 30.66.
He recently won the Man of the Series award for his great performances for East Zone in the Deodhar Trophy. He had scored 354 runs in 6 innings, which includes 2 centuries and a 95 in the finals, while picking up 11 wickets. He also represented India A in the Emerging Asia Cup 2023, which was held in Sri Lanka.
