Gujarat Titans’ Rs 3.6 crore signing meets with bike ACCIDENT weeks before start of 2024 IPL

Robin Minz was recently purchased by Gujarat Titans in the 2024 IPL auction for ₹3.6 crore. He was picked thanks to his excellent performances for Jharkhand in the Col. CK Nayudu Trophy in 2023. He continued his form in 2024, scoring 489 in eight innings. Minz finished the tournament with an average of 61.13 and two centuries, including a double century. 

Recently, the wicket-keeper batter met with a motorbike accident. Minz had collided with another bike while on a ride on his Kawasaki superbike. His father, Francis Minz, confirmed the rising star is fine and has “minor bruises”.

The bike has been severely damaged, with the front of his bike being affected the most. He was set to leave for the pre-season camp held by the Gujarat Titans, but now his participation is put on hold. 

Shubman Gill meets Robin Minz’s father at Ranchi Airport 

Shubman Gill was recently in Ranchi to play in the ongoing England tour of India. The batter was appointed as the new Gujarat Titan captain after Hardik Pandya was traded to Mumbai Indians.

Before leaving Ranchi, the batter made sure he went and interacted with Robin Minz’s father, Francis Minz. Francis is an ex-Indian Army veteran, who currently works in airport security in Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi. Gill later uploaded a photo of him and Francis, and called Robin’s journey as a cricketer inspiring. 

Gill was recently under fire for his poor performances for the Test team. For the first two tours as India’s new number 3, he didn’t score above 47. When England came to India, Gill continued to struggle, with reports of him being close to being dropped. 

He replied back with a magnificent century in a winning cause in the Vizag Test. He continued his great form in the next two Tests, scoring two half-centuries.
