The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Roger Binny and vice-president Rajeev Shukla crossed the Attari-Wagah Border for the historic visit to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup. This will be the first visit by members of the Indian cricketing board since the 26/11 attack in Mumbai. They are expected to attend two matches at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Binny and Shukla along with the members of the involved boards will join a dinner party hosted by Pakistan. Pakistan, despite the hybrid model, is still the official host of the 2023 Asia Cup.
Due to the political strain between the two nations, further fueled by the 26/11 attack, India were firm in their decision to never send the Indian players to Pakistan for the 2023 Asia Cup due to security reasons. After much discussion between BCCI, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), it was concluded that the hybrid model first introduced by PCB will be used. As a result, India are playing all of their matches in Sri Lanka with Pakistan hosting just four matches.

Pakistan last hosted a multi-nation event in 2008
In 2008, Pakistan hosted the Asia Cup and since then the country did not conduct any other multi-national tournament until this year. India have yet to travel to Pakistan since that terror attack in Mumbai.
And though India won’t play any matches in Pakistan for now, Babar Azam and Co. will come to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup, starting October 5 with a match between England and New Zealand. Pakistan will kick start their campaign on October 6. Against India, Pakistan will play on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Another headache for both BCCI and PCB, including the International Cricket Council (ICC) is the 2025 Champions Trophy. Pakistan are given the hosting rights and it will be interesting to see if India will go there to participate in the tournament.
