Since Hardik Pandya’s appointment as Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper, things have not been good in the MI camp, it seems. Rohit Sharma‘s wife Ritika Sajdeh’s reaction to MI coach Mark Boucher’s explanation about the captaincy change further added fuel to the rumors.

Notably, Sajdeh dropped the comment that read, “So many things wrong with this,” on a video where Boucher was explaining that the transition was solely for cricketing purposes. And now, rumors of Sharma and Pandya unfollowing each other on Instagram started spreading.

Some social media users pointed out that Pandya unfollowed Sharma on Instagram but continues to follow Sajdeh. Mark Boucher said making Hardik Pandya the captain was a cricketing decision

Earlier, Mark Boucher said handing the captaincy responsibilities to Hardik Pandya would be helpful for Rohit Sharma as a batter. Notably, Sharma did not have a great season in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) as he struggled to score runs. He could score just 332 runs from 16 matches at an average of 20.75 and a strike rate of 132.80.

It's just more of a cricketing decision that was made, and I do think it is going to bring the best out of Rohit as a person and as a player. Just let him go out and enjoy yourself and score some good runs.
Boucher told Smash Sports

Sharma is currently captaining the Indian team in the five-match Test series against England. After losing the first Test, India tied the series 1-1, and the third Test is scheduled on February 15 in Rajkot. In the first two Tests, he scored 24, 39, and 14, 13 respectively.
