Rohit Sharma meets 6-year-old Meera Salvi who got hit by his six; England cricketers gift her a jersey
Rohit Sharma hit this girl
In the first ODI of the three-match series between India and England, the former’s skipper Rohit Sharma’s one of sixes hit a six-year-old girl, Meera Salvi. His father was seen rubbing her back while medical team rushed to her to check if everything was alright. The match also halted for a few second. Later, it was confirmed that everything was okay.
Jasprit Bumrah troubled English batters by taking full advantage of the overcast situation. He scalped six wickets and conceded just 19 runs with two maiden overs. Four English batsmen had gone on ducks and at the end, all they could give a target was a paltry 110 runs.
Bumrah made easier for the Indian batsmen to reach the target without sweating too much. India won the match by 10 wickets. Opening batters Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan had a century partnership between them. And Rohit was in full mood to smash big hits.
Rohit Sharma gives her chocolate
This incident happened in the fifth over by David Wiley. Rohit smashed his favourite pull shot. It was really a spectacular one but unfortunately, the ball hit a small girl of six-year-old. When the camera panned in her direction, her father could be seen comforting her by rubbing her back, while a couple of medical staff rushed to check her. The match was halted for a moment.
When India won the match, Rohit went to meet her and gave her a chocolate. This gesture from the Indian captain won hearts of the many and had gone viral on the internet.
Another picture flodded Twitter when the English players also gifted her a jersey. She was all smiles after the two gifts from Rohit and England.
