Rohit Sharma became the first captain to lead a side to a series victory against England in their Bazball era. Though Ben Stokes and his men were able to shut down the critics after hammering the hosts in the first Test, they weren’t able to repeat the same in the next four matches, as they lost the series 4-1.

Sharma batted in all the 10 innings and accumulated 400 runs. After the conclusion of the fifth Test at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on Saturday (March 9), Sharma talked about his retirement plans.

One day, when I wake up and feel I am not good enough, then I will retire straightaway. But in the last few years, I have been playing the best cricket of my life.

Test cricket was & will be the ultimate format, and it’s great to see @BCCI & @JayShah leading the way in prioritizing Test cricket.
