For the upcoming Asia Cup, 18 players are going to travel to Sri Lanka. But for the 2023 World Cup, only 15 can be selected. Rohit says the tough part is telling 3 players that they would miss out on the World Cup. He related it to the time he wasn’t selected in the 2011 ICC ODI World Cup, which India won.

Rohit said he and Rahul Dravid talk and explain to players why they weren’t selected in the team. He says a lot of it comes down to the opposition, surface, the strengths and weaknesses of the players.

Rohit then talked about putting himself in their shoes and trying to understand how the players felt. He then talked about how Yuvraj had taken him out for dinner after he was dropped from the 2011 World Cup squad. Yuvraj explained to Rohit how he has a lot of years ahead in his career and how there’s always more chances.

12 years after being dropped from the squad, Rohit is now the Captain of the Indian Cricket Team.
