David Warner could have scored a century if he hadn’t sacrificed it for the sake of the team. As he was getting close to his first hundred this season, Rovman Powell asked the Australian is he wanted a single for that.

However, Warner told him to go big because that’s how the game works. Powell then hammered the speedster Umran Malik for three boundaries and a six to help Delhi’s total score go past 200.

“I got winded at the end. I asked DW if I should het a single to allow his 100 but he told me, ‘That’s not how the game is played’, and told me to go big,” Powell told in an interview during the match.

“Sometimes, I could not hit it was well as I wanted to, some of the swings were planned. The wicket was good, I planned and shaped up for the full and slower balls and the shots came off towards the end.

“I chatted with Rishabh about my batting position, I told him to trust me at 5 as my game against spin. I tried to get in for 15 balls and then accelerate in the next 20.
