Rajasthan Royals play only their second ever IPL final tonight against the Gujarat Titans. The Men in Pink have been on fire this season powered by Jos Buttler’s batting and Yuzvendra Chahal’s bowling. However, a lot of credit is also due to Sanju Samson who’s captaincy has been flawless in their run up to the finals.

However, before the IPL started, many didn’t see Sanju Samson as a quality captain, or at least at par with some of the other more experienced and successful captains of IPL. According to Sanju Samson, even the broadcasters of IPL didn’t see Sanju Samson as hot property when they marketed the tournament. Although, against all odds, Samson leads the Rajasthan Royals as they face the Gujarat Titans in the finals of IPL 2022.

“Wondered why there wasn’t a pink jersey” – Sanju Samson’s wife on social media

Charulatha Samson, Sanju Samson’s wife shared the image on Instagram and wrote, “Saw this animated video showing the race for IPL 2022 on the first day of IPL. And wondered why there wasn’t any pink jersey.” The animated photo shows the likes of Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni up front with various other IPL captains behind them.

However, Sanju Samson’s is completely absent in the image as it shows just 9 captains. The Kerala player has beaten all other captains as he now faces Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans in the finals of IPL 2022. Individually as well, Sanju has enjoyed a good season with the bat, being the team’s second highest run getter with 458 to his name.
