Sarfaraz Khan made his debut for India under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma during the third Test against England in Rajkot. Khan scored his half-century in the first innings as well as in his second innings. During a recent interview, the Mumbai batter revealed what he thinks of Sharma’s captaincy, which according to him was just like ‘Bhuvan‘, Aamir Khan’s character in the 2001 movie ‘Lagaan‘.
During the Test series, Sharma was heard on the mic stump scolding his teammates for fielding mistakes. He also advised Khan to not try to become a “hero”, reminding him to wear a helmet while fielding close to the batter.
Khan, however, defended Sharma, saying that the captain doesn’t scold much. The 26-year-old believes it’s the way people of Mumbai talk.
Matlab jab unko dekhta hoon toh ekdum pyaar sa aata hai ki itne ache bande hai vo. Whenever I see him, I just admire him. He is such a good person. He takes everyone together as a team. Whenever he speaks something during the team meeting, it reminds me of Aamir Khan's movie, Lagaan.Khan said during the India Today Conclave in New Delhi
