Shadab Khan gives savage reply after becoming victim of FAKE claim of Ajit Agarkar’s “Virat Kohli will handle Pakistani pacers”

Agarkar, in a press conference in New Delhi, allegedly claimed that India stalwart Virat Kohli will take of Pakistani pacers like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf.

Pakistani star all-rounder Shadab Khan gave a savage reply to a journalist when asked about India chief selector Ajit Agarkar‘s claim. While announcing the squad for the 2023 Asia Cup, Agarkar, in a press conference in New Delhi, allegedly claimed that India stalwart Virat Kohli will take of Pakistani pacers like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf.

“Virat Kohli will take care of them (Pakistani pacers),” Agarkar had said as per social media users. It’s worth noting that Agarkar never made such claims but on X (formerly Twitter), a fan shared a post highlighting Agarkar’s statement, but it never took place.

After the third ODI against Afghanistan, when Shadab Khan was asked what he thought of Agarkar’s claim, the swashbuckling all-rounder gave a strong response, saying that predicting beforehand doesn’t affect anything. The reporter who asked the question, it seems, wasn’t about the fake news.

“It depends on a particular day, probably. Now, someone from India or I can make any claim, but those are just words. Anybody can say anything and that doesn’t change or affect anything. When he will have the match, then we might see what goes on,” Shadab said after the match.

Kohli has good records against the Pakistani pacers. Since 2019, the Delhi-born batter slammed 158 runs from 110 against some of the pacers. Only Shaheen could dismiss him during the 2021 T20 World Cup.

The 17-man squad for the 2023 Asia Cup is currently in Alur, Karnataka for their training camp. They are undergoing yo-yo tests as well as forming pairs for a long batting session. Videos of their training sessions have surfaced online and in one of the videos, Kohli and Jadeja could be seen batting together.

Team India will begin their Asia Cup campaign on September 2 against arch-rivals Pakistan. The continental tournament will commence on August 30 with a match between Pakistan and Nepal.
