Shahid Afridi fined by Pakistani police for traffic violation; he lauds them with suggestion for speed limit over 120 kmph

Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi was fined by Pakistani police for over speeding while he was travelling from Lahre to Karachi. He was penalised a amound of Rs 1,500 (Pakistan currency) for it. Afridi lauded the police for not letting him off because of his celebrity status.
“The law is equal for everyone,” he was quoted as saying in the report. He posed for a picture and hailed the behaviour of the police. In a Twitter post, he wrote, “Good to interact with a polite staff at @NHMPofficial and I found them very professional. Also my humble suggestion we have good highways, the speed allowed should be more than 120kph!“

Shahid Afridi’s cricket career

During his time, he was one of the celebrated cricketer; nicknamed Boom Boom, he was considered one of the dangerous batsmen. He has played 398 ODId, 99 T20Is, and 27 Tests for Pakistan in a career spanning two decades. He has scored 1,716 runs in Test cricket and 1,416 runs in T20s.
In the ODI, the former pakistan skipper had scored 8064 runs with six centuries. He stands at the third position for smashing the fastest run in ODIs; which he scored in just 37 balls against Sri Lanka in 1996.
This all-rounder has a total of 395 wickets in ODIs. The 2009 T20 World Cup winner has notched five-wicket hauls nine times in ODIs. His best bowling figures read 7/12.
Recently, Afridi also extended his support to Afghanistan cricketer Rashid Khan for the latter’s earthquake relief campaign. “I’m supporting Rashid Khan’s campaign to provide relife to earthquake victims in Afghanistan. I nominate Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, and Shoaib Akhtar to post their videos,” he tweeted.
