Former Pakistan cricketer, Shahid Afridi recently made a big claim about his team bus being attacked by stone pelters in Bangalore after they won the Test against India in 2005. However, the all-rounder also said that Pakistan should in fact go to India for the World Cup and win the tournament.

He believes the players must experience such pressure and atmosphere. The ICC had announced the World Cup schedule despite concerns of Pakistan wanting to not travel to India, which now confirms that the former would in fact be flying in for the ODI World Cup.

Shahid Afridi said he is totally against Pakistan not traveling to India. Elaborating on his stone-pelting claim he said, “It was a high-pressure moment in our careers (tours of India). When we hit boundaries, there was no one to cheer. When we won the Bangalore Test and were departing for the hotel, stones were pelted on the team bus. The pressure is there, of course, but then it’s only fun when there’s pressure.”

However, there are no clear reports of such an incident taking place to prove Shahid Afridi’s claims.

Talking about his stance on whether Pakistan should travel to India, he said “People are saying that Pakistan should not go to India. I am totally against it, I think we should go there and win the match.”
