On this day a year ago, the cricket fraternity woke up to the news of the demise of one of the legends of cricket. Australia’s spin wizard Shane Warne left the world at just the age of 52, of a suspected heart attack during a holiday in Ko Samui, Thailand.
Warne’s family and friends, who are still trying to accept the truth that Warne is no more with them, shared heartfelt messages, photos, and video clips of him on social media. Warne’s eldest daughter Brook posted a video of her with Warne with the caption: “Love you Dad, I will remember us this way, laughing and happy. One year today, feels like yesterday you were taken but forever since I’ve seen you.”
Warne’s younger daughter Summer shared a photo of her holding a black and white photo of her father with the caption: “My beautiful dad, I miss you just about every second of every day. I’m still trying to navigate life without you here, trying my best to live in a world without you in it.”
Warne’s son Jackson Warne shared a video on Instagram, which also has snippets from movies like Bojack Horseman and Little Miss Sunshine. “One year ago today. Miss you mate, love Jacko,” Jackson wrote.
Warne’s ex-wife and co-parent Simone Callahan posted a video of Warne impersonating Elvis Presley. “He just wanted to be the best dad. We miss you. Forever in our hearts. I hope you have found comfort and peace.”

Twitter fans share heartfelt messages on Shane Warne’s death anniversary

Apart from his friends and family, the cricket fraternity shared heartfelt messages, photos, and clips. Some also relived his ‘Ball of the Century’ to Mike Gatting. Check their reactions below:
It was Warne’s Ashes debut on June 4, 1993, at Old Trafford when he delivered the ‘Ball of the Century‘. He had just 31 scalps to his name in 11 Tests back then but his first ball to Mike Gatting signaled the arrival of a great. His delivery seemed to have gone straight but took a vicious turn after pitching, and went on to dislodge the bails.
Warne is regarded as one of the best to have played the game. He bagged 708 Test wickets and was behind only Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan in the list of most scalps in Test cricket history. He made his Test debut in 1992 and went on to pick up over 1,000 combined wickets in Tests and ODIs.
